Let that Lion Mane Shine!⚡️

HAPPY SECOND DAY OF SUMMMMA! 🌞 I meant to post this yesterday but got caught up enjoying the beautiful weather with friends! I hope everyone had a great week and can take a moment to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend since it feels like it has been monsooning all week! ☔️

Soooo, I thought in honor of summer being here I would share some of my favorite tips and tricks to keeping your hair silky smooth! 💁🏻‍♀️ I will start by saying that I have been very blessed to have great thick Asian hair however, with the amount of times I like to straighten/curl my hair it still needs a little help!

So I’ve had my days of spending lots of money on certain shampoos/conditioners which if you are willing to spend the extra money (highly recommend Matrix Biolage) but lately I’ve been ballin on a budget so I had to cut back to some simple stuff (herbal essences). However, I noticed that the top things I needed were below….

1. LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER

I swear this is my holy grail. You can give me a crappy shampoo and conditioner but as long as I have my FAVORITE leave in conditioner…. my hair will thank you. That favorite leave in conditioner is…. dun dun dun… It’s a 10 Miracle Leave In plus Keratin. This stuff is magic lol, a couple spritz’s and you will be brushing smoothness into your hair! Added bonus, this stuff smells AMAZING. I usually shower at night on days I work so when I wake up in the morning my hair is silky smooth!

2. STRAIGHTENER

I wish I could be satisfied with not straightening my hair because for the most part my hair is pretty naturally straight however, I can’t stand when it isn’t pin straight. I’ve tried many different expensive types of straighteners but the one that has lasted and made a noticeable difference in my hair is the GHD STRAIGHTENER (currently 25% off). With each stroke it will give you a sleek and smooth look. I swear instead of feeling like you are crisping your hair out the GHD straightener makes your hair feel silkier.

3. SILK THERAPY!

Oil therapy is very important if you are someone who uses a blow dryer, curling iron, or straightener daily. It helps treat heat damage and replenishes your hair! My favorite kind is BIOSILK. It contains 17 of the 19 amino acids in hair and helps prevent split ends. There are so many great things about this product. First, it smells SOOO FREAKING GOOD!! Second, it will last you forever because you only need a dime size drop. Third, your hair will thank you! It can be easy to misuse this product though so BE CAREFUL. The key to not misusing…. LESS IS MORE!!! Like I said, you only need a dime size drop! I put a tiny bit on my hands, rub together, and comb into my hair using my fingers avoiding the roots of my hair. Voila!

4. SUPPLEMENTS

You probably think I mean biotin. WRONG. I’m talking about collagen peptides. Our body starts producing less collagen when we hit our 20’s which leads to wrinkles, saggy skin, brittle hair & nails. So how do we fix that?! Drink collagen! My favorite brand is Further Food. I like this brand because 1. They were started by BOSS BABES! 2. The collagen powder truly is tasteless & odorless 3. IT WORKS! You can simply mix in a glass of water, smoothie, or in your cooking! I do all three 🙂 Use promo code JAS10 for a discount!

5. Hydration

I feel like I am stating the obvious so I’ll keep it short. DRINK DRINK DRINK! Your hair needs hydrated too!!!

Hope this helps! Have an amazing summer babes!
